The shape of it
Tor only. There is no clearnet storefront that touches your account. You may find a landing page in an ordinary search, but the landing page is a door and the market is behind the onion. Everything account related happens at one of the three addresses above.
Monero. Settlement runs on XMR, and the choice is deliberate. A Monero ledger does not hand out the spending graph that a Bitcoin address does, so the market's books are not a public document. Deposits and withdrawals both move XMR, and the withdrawal fee is the one place the market takes its cut of it.
PGP and 2FA are not optional. Every account carries both from registration. That is why an account survives a single leaked device: the password alone is not the whole lock, and the mail that could reset it is encrypted to a key only you hold. It is also why support feels slower than a chat widget. The answers are real answers, signed and encrypted, which is what you want when the subject is your money.
Vendor bonds. A seller stakes a sum of money before selling, and a confirmed dispute draws from it. The bond figure is on every shop page, which means the question "how much does this vendor have to lose" has a public, numeric answer. That single design choice does more for buyer protection than any amount of feedback text.

The categories are browsable, search works across listings, and vendor feedback is public. Three things to look at before any order, in order: the vendor's feedback history, the bond figure, and the shipping times stated in the listing itself.
How it is run, as far as is public
The market communicates through PGP and its Dread board, /d/BlackOps, where announcements, the signed mirror list, a banned vendor list, and a bug bounty program live. Outages are announced there. Address changes land there. When something about the market is "official," the chain is: a signed post on Dread, the PGP key behind it, and nothing else in between.
Support is a PGP address, answered around the clock. The bug bounty pays for found problems in the market's own systems, which is a market that reads its own bug reports, and the two facts are more related than they look.
